I didnt get to play a ton of the demo but I got a good feel for the game. It is in line with FTL and Bomber Crew. I enjoyed the game, but there were a few things I think could be better.
Over all, it felt a little slow to me. Combat felt very drawn out, back and forth, but maybe that was just because I was still in the early part of the game. I also didnt like that during non combat time, you are still on a turn based system. I makes things like movement tedious because when I wanted to move far, I had to stop every 5 tiles and re select the movement option.
I also dont like that it costs action point to equip items to the ship, I feel like that should be free. I understand taking an action to heal the ship, but adding equipment seems like it should be different. I also feel like since almost all the actions are in 2 point intervals, it feels redundant. Why not in intervals of 1 with less AP? But maybe I missed a few 1 point tasks.
I like the style of the game. The ships looked good. I feel like the hp/shield bars could look a little better. Also the galactic map could definitely use some work. It felt sort of flat.
I really loved the opening tho. The artwork was top notch.
I know that its just a demo and some of these things are still being worked on. These are just my thoughts. It was a good game, my biggest complaint is it felt slow. If there was a way to could progress slightly faster I would enjoy it a lot more.
